About The Seed:
KS Big Bow is a medium height, medium-early maturity, hard white winter wheat from the K-State Hays Breeding Program. This variety has good drought resistance, WSMV and TriMV tolerance, and has consistently out-yielded Joe, the dominant white wheat variety in the region, for several years. KS Big Bow also improves dramatically on the quality traits compared to Joe, enough to land it a spot on GrainCraft’s Preferred Variety List.
Where to Grow
KS Big Bow is a very high performer in the Western High Plains, where it has been KWA’s best yielding line for several years. Due to it’s market class (white) and high quality traits, this variety is a very good pick for producers able to facilitate an Identity Preserved program with an end user. However it’s yield record and agronomic rankings would make KS Big Bow a competitive pick for any producers growing white wheat.
What’s in a Name?
