Variety Notes:
KS Homesteader CL+ is a two-gene Clearfield variety from Kansas State University adapted for western KS and eastern CO. It has a strong disease package for this area with resistance to stripe rust and the higher temperature resistance (21C) to WSMV. It is moderately resistant to stem rust but susceptible to leaf rust. This medium-late, medium-tall variety also has good milling and baking qualities along with above average straw strength, and good winter hardiness. KS Homesteader CL+ is also a standout with excellent test weight and protein at a given yield.
KS Homesteader CL+ was named after the Homestead Act of 1862 which opened up the west to settlement. It’s not an easy life on the High Plains then or now, which is why you need a wheat as tough as the homesteaders. Book your KS Homesteader CL+ today!
