About The Seed:

KS Homesteader CL+ is a medium-late, medium-tall variety from Kansas State University and Kansas Wheat Alliance. It has a strong disease package with resistance to stripe rust and higher temperature resistance (21C) to WSMV. This variety puts on a heathy amount of straw making it a good choice for producers looking for ground cover before and after harvest. Along with above average straw strength, and good winter hardiness, this wheat also produces good milling and baking results and is a standout with excellent test weight and protein. Where to grow

KS Homesteader CL+ performs very well in the droughty areas of the High Plains and into the Central Plains. The disease package on this wheat also makes it a good option for fields at a higher risk of Wheat Streak and Triticum Mosaic. Combine those factors with the two-gene Clearfield tolerance and this wheat is ready to take on some of the toughest acres on your farm.

What’s in a name?

KS Homesteader CL+ was named after the Homestead Act of 1862 which opened up the west to settlement. It’s not an easy life on the High Plains then or now, which is why you need a wheat as tough as the homesteaders. Book your KS Homesteader CL+ today!
